1. Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)

About the course

The humble B. Sc. Is your opening act to a variety of options. It offers specializations in microbiology, biotechnology, nursing, genetics or even environmental science. the added bonus is that most reputed colleges offering B Sc enroll students based on their school admission scores alone.

After completing one of these courses, you can practice independently or conduct research in R&D facilities. The State Government generally conducts an entrance exam that is for students opting for these courses, for example, in Uttar Pradesh, you have to write CPAT to join these courses. With the introduction of NEET, it might be the common factor for admission to any medical course.

Once you complete the course you are eligible to practice dentistry or enter into research. There are several high education options as well.

The BDS programme enables a student to further pursue their careers or research in the field of dentistry. Some options are:

  • Working as a dentist, dental hygienist, surgeon or technician

About the course

The B. VSc. course focuses on veterinary sciences – understanding diseases, and surgery for both domesticated & wild animals. The course teaches diagnosis and treatment of animals, apart from prevention & correct medication measures to be taken for treatment. B VSc. & AH course is of a 5-year duration with an internship program, and excluding the Animal Husbandry program, is a 3-year long course.

For admission to any veterinary science colleges, one has to either take state-specific entrance exams or write the entrance exam specified by Veterinary Council Of India called AICEE (All India Common Entrance Examination).

The B. VSc. & AH course opens up a diverse range of options for a student that he/she can pursue. These are:

  • Being a practicing veterinarian
  • Working with government institutions like zoological parks & wildlife sanctuaries
  • Working in research with national institutes specializing in animal husbandry

About the course

 B.VSc., as is clear from the name of the course, is on veterinary sciences – understanding diseases, and surgery for both domesticated & wild animals. It involves a diagnosis of diseases in animals and the subsequent treatment, prevention of diseases, maintenance of healthy livestock etc. B VSc. & AH is a 5-year course that includes an internship program. Excluding the Animal Husbandry program, it is a 3-year long course. You will focus on xs disciplines like pharmaceutical engineering, medicinal chemistry and the analysis of data regarding prescribed dosages & outcomes.

For admission to a pharmacy college, you have to write a national-level exam called GPAT (Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test) or any state-specific medical entrance exam.

Following are the opportunities available to a student who has pursued B. Pharm.

  • Working with hospitals & government institutions as an in-house pharmacist/chemist

    Admissions to B. Sc course in Medical is done on the basis of marks obtained in class 12th examinations. Students should have completed high school with subjects: Physics, Chemistry and Math/ Biology. Hope this answers your question.
